Cerobear GmbH is a privately-owned manufacturer of advanced ceramic and hybrid bearings located near Aachen in northwest Germany. Founded in 1990 by two former engineering scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute, the company has become a distinguished European and world leader in the design, development and manufacturing of proprietary advanced bearings with ceramic components.
From extreme and complex bearing applications – to industrial uses requiring innovative bearing designs and the highest manufacturing standards – Cerobear represents uncompromising quality.

Our ceramic and hybrid bearings have proven highly successful in the Space Shuttle’s main engines, Formula One racing, America’s Cup yachts, aviation and aerospace, next generation aircraft engines, chemical processing, food and beverage packaging, semiconductors and high-technology companies and industries worldwide.

Advanced Bearing Technology

For semiconductor and coating applications, Cerobear’s proprietary rolling bearings are corrosion resistant, tough and rigid, fully non-magnetic and unaffected by heat, vacuum and aggressive media. Our high strength ceramic and steel elements feature advanced materials and proprietary manufacturing unique to Cerobear:
Ceramic Bearings – Full ceramic bearings made of light weight, extremely hard Silicon Nitride and Zirconia
Hybrid Bearings – Optimum strength “high nitrogen steel” raceways with Silicon Nitride rolling elements
Cerobear’s advanced ceramic and hybrid bearings are available in ball and roller types. These exceptionally tough, reliable bearings are sought by high-technology manufacturers worldwide because they operate seamlessly and continuously – with little or no lubrication – in extremely corrosive, vacuum and clean room environments.

Cerobear Cooperation Program

For semiconductor bearing applications, Cerobear recently announced a new Cooperation Program for US and Canadian engineers who require bearing design expertise, insight on specific bearing materials and highly reliable bearing products. The objective of this program is to offer engineers in North America comprehensive consulting services, on a complimentary basis, and provide direct access to Cerobear’s Engineers in Germany.

Cerobear Engineers offer expertise in “Cooperation Partnerships” with customers and prospective customers using bearings for semiconductor, coating, vacuum and clean room applications. Cerobear will contribute the highest levels of bearing design and manufacturing know-how, and work closely with new and existing customers through the required planning, quotation, confirmation, ordering and delivery process.

The following are Cerobear’s initial planning steps for new customers:

1) Semiconductor Engineers send inquiries by email or phone call to Cerobear’s North American sales office;
2) Cerobear North America responds to Engineer’s inquiry with follow up phone call and initial introduction;
3) Semiconductor Engineers provide key information on bearing requirements, specifications, applications;
4) Cerobear North America sends all details of inquiry to designated Cerobear Sales Engineers in Germany;
5) Semiconductor Engineer is contacted by Cerobear Engineer to review information and advise next steps.
