ICSCE-5 will take place between the 7th and 11th February 2011 in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL).

This meeting follows a series of previous meetings on spontaneous coherence in excitonic systems that were held in Pennsylvania, USA (2004), Southampton, United Kingdom (2005), Les Houches, France (2007), and Cambridge, United Kingdom (2008).

The conference aims at bringing together the ever growing community of researchers studying quantum collective phenomena in various kinds of electronic excitations in solids.

It is intended that the topic of spontaneous coherence in excitonic systems will be interpreted widely, including exciton condensation, polariton condensation, magnon condensation, exciton and polariton lasers, parametric oscillators, bilayer quantum Hall systems, and systems displaying strongly correlated phases.
